Accountability: The Role of Acupuncturists in Anti-Asian Violence

As healthcare professionals, what is the role of the Acupuncturist and Accountability in the increase of anti-Asian violence?

This is a 2-PART WORKSHOP (April 10th and April 24th) for acupuncture students and practitioners explores the practice of accountability within the East Asian Medicine (EAM) field amongst the increasing rise of anti-Asian violence. Hosted by Dr. Tamsin Lee, Dr. Paige Yang and Dr. Emily Siy.

As healthcare professionals and carriers of traditional medicine from East Asia, what is the role of the Acupuncturist and Accountability in Anti-Asian Violence?

It has been nearly a year since 6 Asian women were murdered in a shooting spree in Atlanta, Georgia. More recently, Michelle Go, Christina Yuna Lee, and Gui Ying Ma were also murdered in an act of racial femicide. Everyday, the violence against Asians has been increasing, and the EAM field continues to remain silent.

  • APRIL 10th — 1st workshop, we will discuss the importance of accountability — as acupuncturists — on a national, community, and personal level within the EAM field, and provide attendees with tangible next-step actions. *Recording for this event is available for purchase here.

  • APRIL 24th — 2nd workshop, we reconvene to have a heart-to-heart reflective discussion as a community of health justice students and practitioners. Attendees will receive an email reminder 1 week prior to the 2nd workshop with a Zoom link.

Sign up on Event Brite UPDATE: RECORDED EVENT IS AVAILABLE HERE, you will receive a link to attend 4/24 session as well.

*Please note that the 1st workshop will be recorded and available for 7 days after the event. However, the 2nd workshop will NOT be recorded to protect the privacy of the community discussion. All sales are final.
