API Healing Circle: Building an Herbal Medicine Cabinet (Virtual) 5/21
For Asian and Pacific Islander Sisters and Siblings
Have you been exposed to herbal medicine in your home by your parents or caretakers but want to know more? This workshop is for you! Whether you’ve had exposure or no experience at all, please come and learn how to build an herbal medicine cabinet for you and your family based on Chinese Medicine home remedies. As a board certified Chinese herbalist, I know that learning herbal medicine has been a huge part of my experience in connecting back to my roots as an Asian American. I hope this workshop will do the same for you!
In this healing circle we will share stories and learn about different products or patent formulas you might find in a Chinese pharmacy or supermarket. Though my experience and expertise is based in Chinese Medicine you are encouraged to bring knowledge from your experience and cultures. I will be going over some of the main herbal ingredients in pinyin as well as their common names and pharmaceutical names so that you are able to identify similar products in other cultural food stores.
Sunday May 21, 4:30-6pm EST

Please note this workshop is for all Asian and Pacific Islanders and all of our intersecting identities. There will not be a recording as this is more of a gathering where we share stories, herbal information is for educational purposes only. This should not be taken as medical advice.
During the pandemic my community organizing efforts repeatedly led me back to feeling like, we as a community (Asians and Pacific Islanders living in the US) do not practice community enough. We have a lot of gaps to bridge and I would like us to begin healing together in a way that connects us back to ourselves so that we can have better practices of building connections with each other.
This workshop is a space where misogyny, transphobia and anti-Blackness are not tolerated. Thanks for your commitment to maintaining a safe space.
